The Background

You may have noticed that we have recently introduced a fantastic new product to our range: VisionWall Self-Adhesive Projection Surface. We decided to introduce an economic alternative to the Whiteboard Wall Covering that we brought in last year. This product has been highly successful seeing a large number of sales since its introduction. We send out a large number of quotations for this product line, mainly the Non Magnetic, Magnetic and Project-on versions. Of these quotations, a large number convert to orders, and our customer's have been extremely satisfied with the installed results. The main feedback we received from customers, who decided not to proceed with the order, was that the material was over their budget limitations.

As a result of this feedback we have sourced and stocked an alternative product from China which offers the same fantastic space saving functionality.

The Products

As mentioned above Whiteboard Wall Covering is available in a variety of options and is purchased off the roll by the linear metre. The product is very versatile and is hung like a standard commercial wall covering. It can be mounted horizontally, vertically, round corners, and in rows or columns butted up together to form large whiteboard surfaces. All the versions of Whiteboard Wall Covering accept Dry-Erase marker pens. The Magnetic version also accepts magnetic attachments and the Project-on version has a semi-matt finish which is suitable for projection. In all cases the Whiteboard Wall Covering is primarily a whiteboard surface, with secondary functionality.

The product must be purchased along with a heavy duty adhesive for installation, and often the primer which acts as a key for porous surfaces such as Plaster / Plasterboard, Render etc.

By comparison VisionWall is primarily a Self-Adhesive projection surface which also allows the use of Whiteboard marker pens. The product is sold in a 3m x 1.5m tube and can be applied directly to a clean flat surface without the need for costly and messy adhesives. The product is ideal where a large section of the material is required in one section, however is not designed, and does not lend itself well, to large installations where sections will need to be butted up together. For larger installations, Green Monkey AV would recommend using the Whiteboard Wall Covering.

Another great application for the new VisionWall product is re-surfacing existing whiteboards to make them suitable for projection as well as dry-erase. In fact, the product is so well suited to this application, in order to be able to offer a cheaper alternative to our Vitreous Enamel Semi Matt Project-On Whiteboards we have now launched a range of VisionWall Project-On Whiteboards where the VisionWall product is bonded onto melamine board to offer a dry-erase, project-on whiteboard.
