Short Throw projectors fall into two camps. Those like the Sahara S2000ST and Sanyo PLC-XL45/50/51 that take a "standard" projector body and adapt it to shorten the throw distance by at least 40-60%, and the Hitachi 100 series that are Ultra-Short Throw. The Hitachi models are designed from scratch to give large images from only a short distance away, eg a 1500mm diagonal image from only 420mm away. Some short throw models are also designed for Educational use when combined with Interactive Technology, and are featured in our Educational Orange Projectors section.
